Can you hear them?

The Greek Colonels are stirring in their graves, summoned from the afterlife by the jack-booted Christine Lagarde, the Darth Vaderette of the IMF, riding to the rescue of the world's oldest democracy (because the current one isn't to the liking of the American commercial, cultural and financial imperialists) to liberate utilities and other pieces of family silver from the incompetent, lazy, good-for-nothing Greek people.

Just like the Colonels, the IMF is unelected: not only undemocratic but actively anti-democratic. When they talk of "reform" they actually mean selling off the assets of countries around the world, a gift to the insatiably greedy ranks of investment managers.

I can hear the Mikis Theodorakis soundtrack for Z playing in my head.
