RBS loses £8bn - ooops

The Royal Bank of Scotland reveals losses of £8bn... well, actually more like £20bn, if you also take into account (some account) the cost of buying that Dutch bank.

One of the side effects of the bank meltdowns is to render the word "million" meaningless. You read it and think nothing of it; only billion means anything now. Is that the equivalent of inflation, on the Zimbabwean scale? Presumably, in direct proportion, masters of the universe are shrinking in stature: can we now have dwarves of the universe?
